How about a Caramel Macchiato?

First of all, several weeks ago I won a giveaway from the very lovely and lovable Linda at Growin' with it. I have been meaning to mention it and say a huge thank you to her - she sent me a super cute scarf and a gift card to Target (which is long gone by now, big surprise, right?). Linda, you're the best!

I also recently won another giveaway, a gift card to Starbucks. I was so very excited about this, because I just don't treat myself to Starbucks very often, and as soon as I won I was already debating in my head whether to buy a Peppermint Mocha with it, or to try something new like the Salted Hot Chocolate thing I keep hearing about (which, honestly, sounds very weird...but you all keep raving about it, so I totally trust my bloggy friends' taste buds).

But, since I am still in the middle of my weight loss challenge, I couldn't quite bring myself to indulge in a Starbucks drink. Yes, I know they have the sugar-free varieties, but call me crazy, I want the real thing when I go to Starbucks.

And so I have held onto this card until this week. Which happens to be my birthday week. (My poor hubby - not only does he have Christmas presents to contend with, he also has my birthday on the 21st and then Savannah's birthday on the 27th. He's a trooper).

So my point is, I have decided to do a giveaway for one $5 Starbucks gift card to celebrate my birthday. Leave me a comment on this post, and tell me the best thing that has happened to you this week. And since it's my birthday, I would love to hear from all of you - yes, even those of you who visit faithfully but prefer to lurk. It's open to anyone, even if you don't have a blog, and even if you're one of my real-life friends. I might even throw in a couple of other goodies...hmmm. I'll pick a name on Sunday night, my actual birthday, and let you know on Monday. It probably won't get to you until after Christmas, though.

So that's it...my birthday present to myself...passing along the glorious calories of Starbucks to you.

Okay...I'll go first! :)

The best thing that has happened to me this week was getting a card from the mom of one of my Brownie Girl Scouts thanking me for being her daughter's leader. She also gave me some great smelling soap!

Happy (early) birthday!

Happy early birthday to you and to Savannah. You're right about your hubby being a trooper...maybe you guys should start celebrating 1/2 birthdays as well.

The best thing for me this week was being in my mess of a kitchen (it's in the middle of a redo) and making goodies with my kids. I didn't freak out about the mess...cause it's going to be like that for a while. I truly enjoyed myself and the memories we created!

Happy birthday Jackie and Savannah!

The best thing this week? Celebrating my husband's birthday yesterday. A special lunch and cake with the children and an evening out with another couple.

I would love to take the 'calorie card' off of you. I would shamelessly use it, although I don't need the calories any more than anyone else. I just love coffee!

WWwoooowww! So I read your title and immediately started drooling, lol!!! I guess it's time for a Starbucks run.

Best thing this week? Hmm...I think it's a variety of things, mainly from my friends. Hubby is traveling this week, and they've been calling and scheduling things to do so I won't get lonley. So...I guess that's the best thing (at least until Hubby comes home! lol). =)

Great giveaway idea! The best thing that happened to me this week is having a snow day and being able to stay home Tuesday! I love those days!

Happy Birthday!!

Another thing we have in common, Jackie: A December birthday! I knew there was something I liked about you!

The best thing that happened to me this week was the fact that I can put more weight on my foot. I only need one crutch now. I got more done this morning than I have in 10 days and it feels GREAT!

The best thing that's happened to me this week is that I've had NO MIGRAINES! Yeah!

I'm not a coffee drinker, Jackie, so you don't need to include me in your contest. If I got it, I would pass it along to a family member who loves it. Wonder how long we could pass that g.c. along, huh? This is a very nice idea - a giveaway when it's YOUR birthday!

Happy Birthday to you!

I'm one of those lurkers that stumbled onto your blog from... somewhere. I enjoy it!

The best thing to happen to me this week is that God resurrected our car that had frozen to death last Saturday night. We weren't sure if we'd need a new engine, or a new car altogether. But after days of anxiety and prayer, the old thing started up again, with minimal $ invested!

Merry Christmas!

Hmmmmm... the best thing about my week... First, tomorrow is Friday, which is always awesome. Second, my boss has declared tomorrow morning to be a Christmas goof-off time - you know, like the last day before Christmas break was in school? We are having a brunch potluck and watching Elf. Fun!

I also got a fun lunch box yesterday and a gift card to a great restaurant from one of our vendors at work. Woohoo!

I hope you have an awesome birthday week!

The best thing? Company on top of company to distract me from waiting for my husband to come home from Iraq for two weeks.

Any day now...

My best thing this week is a tie: first, my hubby being extra sweet to me when I.had.had.it!with.the.kids. today. Next was a fun filled afternoon, going shopping with my best friend. Didn't buy a thing, but it was an extra special treat since all of our kids were home for a snow day and we were still able to scoot out for the afternoon.

Happy B'day!

You're so sweet! Giving a gift on your birthday!

The best thing this week: Evie said her first sentence! ("Daddy loves garlic.")

Happy Birthday (early)! Mine was the 10th, so our hubbies are in the same gift-giving, pocket-pinching boat! Bless their hearts!

The best thing about this week was reading "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" for the first time to our son. The illustrations were by Grandma Moses, and our little one loved them. He's just a little over two, so this whole "Santa" thing is a whole new world. He doesn't really get it, but he loves to look at our tree and say, "I wuv Cwismas, Mama!"

I'm impressed that you're sticking with your dieting!

Thanks for a sweet giveaway!

Awww! It's So like you to want to give gifts on your birthday. :)

Okay - I have to put a few things here. First - receiving a beautiful card, picture, and CHOCOLATE from an amazing bloggy friend who really feels like so much more than that. It made my week! It almost even made me cry. Because I'm like that. ANd I know this is a random drawing, so no, I am not trying to cozy up to the prize giver.
The next really cool thing about my week was getting a half dozen beautiful roses from Dave. :)
I hope your birthday is marvelous. :) Is is on Sunday?

Please don't enter me into your contest since I won the last Starbucks gift card (and it was so yummy!) - I just wanted to wish you a HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY! :)

Oh and the best thing that happened to me this week...
my boys are loving the 12 days of christmas where they are opening a gift each day. It is a part of the nativity and they call it they're Jesus present.

The best thing that happened to me this week was some healing of a friendship that is very dear to me. There had been some distance between us and this week we mended the gap. It really is so good for my heart, because she is my FAVORITE friend. The distance made me sad and I had really, really been missing her.

I have NEVER had Starbucks! Shocking isn't it! I am not a coffee girl, but if I were to win I would try it. Of course it would have to be one of those super sweetened drinks to mask the coffee taste. What would you suggest?

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Birthday!

One of the best things that has happened for me this week happened today. I got to spend time alone with my daughter shopping. Well, not actually alone, little G was with us but oh how I enjoyed our time together! She is really a joy to be around! I look forward to many more shopping trips and lunches with this little girl!

Happy Birthday Jackie!
and Merry Christmas!

Oh man, when I go to Starbucks, I want the real thing, too. :)

This week? Well, if you read my post from today already, you know it's been a HARD week. But the highlight was going out to a very nice dinner with Andy and my in-laws on Tuesday night and then to his choir's Christmas concert.

Happy Birthday, friend!

Hey Jackie,
Happy early birthday!! I share your love of Starbucks but most of the time can't get myself to fork out the 4 bucks for one!!!

The best thing for me this week is when Karina and I got to go outside and play in the snow! (check out my blog!) Last year she hated the snow and wouldn't even touch it, so it did my heart good and put a smile on my face to see her playing in it for the first time!!

So have a happy birthday, and Savannah too! and a merry christmas!!!

I know those who know Christ will understand that the best thing that happened to me this week was being able to sing at my hubby's grandmother's funeral...Amazing Grace. She asked me for years to do that for her at her funeral. I was happy to be able to know that she now knows the full glory of His so amazing grace!!!
Happy Birthday Jackie! You are a blessing!!!
and Merry CHRISTmas!!!
In Him!
