When you're 3, the only reason to bow down...

I read Savannah a Bible story every night before bed. Her attention span varies - a lot of that has to do with how exciting the illustration that accompanies the story is. So far her favorites are the picture of Samson rending the cords that the wily Delilah had bound him with...

...the picture of the fiery horse and carriage that took Elijah up to heaven...

...and the Golden Statue in Nebuchadnezzar's dream (she was so convinced this was the Statue of Liberty for the longest time).

Last night we read about Balaam and his talking donkey, which had this fine illustration next to it.

She took one look at it - Balaam prostrating himself before the fearsome angel of the Lord in terror and repentance.

"Mama," she said, "Is he....coloring?"

Guess she had something like this in mind...

Ha! It kind of does look like he's coloring, now that you mention it. :) We have that same Bible. My son loves "The Angry King" story about Herod and "David and Goliath."

Oh, that is classic! Ha!! Did you crack up??? Because I just did. :-)

I use that book for my Sunday School kiddos....especially if I need a visual to help tell the story. But nuts, I already taught Balaam in November. Bummer!

That is so funny! Did you laugh or merely smile when she said that?

I posted a question on my blog you may be able to help with. I'm trying to update my blog design myself and I'm having a problem...

Are you and Savannah feeling better?

We have the same story Bible and I've always thought the pictures were so cute and kid-friendly. And I think the floor is the best place to color!

I love it! "Is he coloring?" Classic!

And I'm addicted to The Bachelor, too. Chris Harrison has a blog, and if you haven't read it yet, it's a hoot. (I never can remember the address, so I usually just google it.)

Can you imagine how much fun Lincee would be in person?! She cracks me up.
