Naps are good. And...a Winner!

Sunday was a perfect day, starting with the light drizzle that came down all night Saturday night, turning the air cool and making it feel like it is now truly autumn, and ending with a steaming bowl of cream cheese chicken soup this evening. In between there was a lot of football watching, which is our favorite Sunday afternoon activity, some napping on the couch, some leisurely reading of the Sunday paper, and just some good family time.

Savannah and I were not the only ones that got a nap. This guy did too:

For those of you who cannot tell who that is, that would be Batman. And lest you think that we go out of our way to buy these kinds of toys for our daughter, I will put your mind at ease and tell you that it was a freebie out of the Cheerios box. For some reason he was selected today as the grand prize winner of a nap in my bed. She placed him with pillows on either side of him so he couldn't roll out, just like I do with her, and then covered him up with a sheet. Then she turned on the fan (remember when I wrote about our fan issues not too long ago?), closed the door, and then informed us that we needed to be quiet because Batman was napping.

We tried to keep it down.

So this perfect day is coming to a close, and it is time now to select a winner of the Starbucks gift card....

...and the winner is....

Kaley, Commenter #12. Congrats, Kaley! Email me with your address and I'll get it in the mail to you.

Happy Monday!

Who couldn't love that Batman took a nap in your bed...and had to have the fan on?

I used to find dolls or action figures taking naps in my bed on a daily basis. I kinda miss it. LOL

I often find stuffed animals or various baby dolls taking naps in my bed, but they're laying on the pillows under the covers.

Congratulations, Kaley!

I've seen Batman napping all over the house, not just in the bed. Now, about the only thing that kind of startles me is the new cat. I'm still trying to get use to what sometimes looks like a stuffed animal moving around.

Kids are so funny how they pick their "things" for the day. Sometimes I think the smaller they are the better liked they are. Also much harder to find when they inevitably get misplaced!

Yay! Thank you Jackie! I will be thinking of you the whole time as I sip on my Pumpkin Spice Latte!

Have great day with Savannah and Batman :)

Oh I remember the days of putting whoever was the favorite toy of the moment to bed! :) You are such a good mama to let her have a whole bed for batman :) And the fan is a must!:>)

Mmmm, Sunday naps.

Oh yes. Madeline puts all sorts of things to "nap;" turns out the light, turns on the sound machine, shuts the door, and then yells (loudly - which doesn't that defeat the purpose?) for all of us to be quiet for the toy/doll/animal.

Oh, your Sunday sounded perfect! That is what we normally do too on Sundays after church! But not yesterday!

Love naps, especially Sunday naps.

My hope in Batman is now gone. Superheroes should not need naps.

My oldest daughter went through a Batman phase. She's the girliest girl you could imagine so it was a very strange phase. I look back at pictures of her 4th birthday batman party and I still think it was the cutest thing - my frilly little pink thing surrounded by the black and yellow batman decorations.

Your Sunday sounds like it was fabulous!

Isn't it funny how kids get attached to the oddest things...and batman in your bed--hey you could do worse ;)

I heart Sunday naps! Mine take place while I listen to 43 cars go around and around the track. Sunday Nascar naps are the best. I stay awake for the first few laps then sleep through the boring part in the middle of the race and wake up to see the last 100 laps or so. So relaxing!

I also heart sleeping with a fan. We even take it with us on vacation. I can not sleep without it!

This sounds like something Ashley would do. I just love how these little "things" make me smile.

We have that exact Batman -- I recognized him immediately. I'm a little ashamed to say that we bought the Cheerios for the express purpose of getting the Batman toy. Shameless, I know. But, it bought me a very cooperative son while I finished up the grocery shopping that day! ;)

Well seeing as how Batman fights crime and all I can see how he might need a nap. Thank goodness he has good friends like Savannah to make sure his sleep isn't interrupted!

Avery loves to pat her babies to sleep. I find them all over the house - half covered in blankies or handtowels - face down and napping.
