A rather desultory post

I finally did it. I scheduled an appointment with my hairdresser, and went Monday afternoon. Why is it that getting a haircut can be so scary? It's just hair. It will grow back. But still...it's pretty important stuff.

Also, I want my husband to be happy and like it, and I'm never sure what he's going to think after I chop my hair. Although in the end, I think it's ultimately more important for me to be happy with it, because if I'm happy, it obviously makes me a more pleasant person all the way around. Which in turn is only good for him.

Ok.

Here it is.

So, I think I like it. I also think I could have asked her to do a few things differently, but I'll know for next time. I am still getting the hang of styling it (hence, the wayward strands you see here and there) and I have so much darn curl in my hair that it takes a long time to get it all out. I have a feeling I'm going to be letting it go curly quite a bit.

And what's even better, because I went to my regular hairdresser, I did not have to use any of the gift certificate on this. So that means I have the full amount left to pamper myself sometime soon, hopefully next week. First massage of my life, here I come!

Ok. Moving on...

I have been really blessed this past month, and have won 4 different contests hosted by various bloggers. I mentioned in an earlier post the book from Linda and the necklace from Carolina Mama by Lisa Leonard Designs (which is beautiful, by the way). More recently, I received a Target gift card from The Roost (thank you so much!) and 3 books are on the way from Jessie, which I am so excited about because, well, new books!

So, obviously, I am hugely grateful and have had so much fun with it all, but I am also starting to feel the need to pass along a little bloggy love myself. My 100th post is coming up in the very near future, and I thought about doing the traditional "100 things about me" post. However, there is a very big problem with that; it would require untold hours for me to sit and think and come up with something readable that would not drive you away within the first spellbinding minute or two. And I do not have untold hours.

So instead, I think I'm going to do a little giveaway of my own. Mind you, it's nothing big, so don't get too excited. It's just a little way to say thanks for taking the time to drop by my little corner of the blogosphere and making me feel at home. I am not sure what day this will be, because I am neither organized nor regular in my posting schedule like some of you are, and so I really have no clue on which day the 100th post might fall. But soon. So stay tuned.

And that, my friends, is all the randomness I have for today.

It's a really cute haircut. I wish mine would have some body to it. It's so thick that I can't style it because it just falls after a couple hours.

Love the haircut! I am a huge fan of the angled bob. And I understand the curly situation, mine is the same way. God bless the CHI straightener.

And yay! Giveaway!

Great haircut! You may have just inspired me to go shorter.

I'll be looking forward to the giveaway, whenever that may be.

LOVE the hair! It is very nice.

I can't believe that you have won so many contest! If I was a gambler I'd say "go buy a lottery ticket!"

Happy Day!

Your Hair looks great! My hair is straight as an arrow and I have always wanted curly hair so I guess it is one of those "grass is always greener" things. I have gone to the same hairdresser for years so it's never a big surprise what I come away with, although I did get it cut short a couple of years ago.

Have a great 4th of July and I can't wait to see what your give away will be, I hope to get in on it!

Your hair looks great! And my
100th post is upcoming too, maybe they'll fall on the same day.

I love your header, Jackie, and your new hair is darling. I go thru exactly those same emotions when I get mine done. I had near-to-bra length hair in March, and now it's about 2 inches above my shoulders. Yikes. The change is fun though. And...you're right. It grows back. I have wavy hair, but it's not wavy like insert favorite starlet's name here's, it's just curly in parts and straight in parts.

Anyway...I'm looking forward to your 100th post.

P.S. I'm so glad that you like your LL necklace. I ordered one for Baby A's grandma as a grandmother's/memorial necklace. I hope she likes it.

Love the hair! It looks so great! And I didn't see any wayward strands. I also have naturally wavy hair & it takes FOREVER to straighten. Lately, I've just been letting it be curly too!

I like the cut! I too have really curly hair. Here in the north it is humid much of the summer and I can't do a thing with it. So, I have to pull it up into a ponytail. I'm not really good about styling my hair. I would like an easy hair cut that would compliment my curly hair. I think you look great, by the way!

Too cute! You have great hair for it. Lucky you on all the contests. SO cool.

Thank you so much for stopping by my site and I especially thank you for leaving a comment! Please feel free to stop and visit anytime!

I love your haircut. I would love a longer blunt style cut but I too have curly hair...and don't want to take the time each day to use a flat iron. This cut is a very good looking style for you, very attractive!

Congrats on your 100th post also. I'll post my 100 Things About Me tomorrow...and then the giveaways are always fun. I've wanted to host a giveaway for ages so I'm excited about mine.

Thanks again for stopping by. Take care and have a great 4th!

Cute, cute, cute hair! I just got mine chopped a couple of weeks ago and my hubby is still not so sure about it.

And I hardly think you would run people off with your 100 things post.

Smiles!

My word but you get lots of comments!! Sheesh! Jackie, you look lovely ... so very glamorous! About the leg bouncing thing - Troy does that too - lol. Drives me crazy! Go read my blog titled "Unfortunate "poo" experiences" to read about my sewage tank experience ... http://tirzahsworld.blogspot.com/2007/10/our-unfortunate-poo-experiences.html
But then you have to promise not to say anything about it - jokes! I'm way over the embarrassment it caused. Love ya!

I think the cut looks great! And, it sounds like you have lots of options with it, being that you can wear it straight or curly. What I wouldn't give for a curl here or there. The only way my hair gets a "bend" in it is if I sleep on it wrong! :)

Becky said...

Very cute cut!! I agree with the comment above me! Mine is so straight! That is funny! Mine might also get a kink if I sleep on it funny!
Neat to have won so much stuff!!

You look good in your new haircut! I envy your patience in styling your hair...I have curly hair too, and I just can't style it myself. So to save time, I had it rebonded, stays straight for like five or six months, until new hair grows out then it becomes curly again.

Hey, congrats on those four wins!
