Some good old-fashioned bribery

Having purchased this over the weekend...

...let the potty-training now commence.

According to Ricardo, the size of the bag should not be an indicator of how long it's going to take. Or at least we're hopin'.

Savannah rarely, very rarely, gets candy. I searched high and low for the teeny mini m&m's. The regular-sized ones were all I could find. I am tempted to cut them in half, but that might be taking it a bit far.

So. I think a good chunk of my day today will be spent keeping my daughter company in the bathroom.

Thank God for wireless internet...at least ya'll can keep me company while I'm in there doling out the m&m's.

Good luck with potty training!
I remember doing the m&m thing with my oldest. I remembering telling him "lets go potty so you can get some candy" (we never gave him candy so I knew this would be very enticing...right?) He looked at me and said you can have it I don't want it and I don't want to go potty...uhh....I was at a loss.
eventually he did potty train...and the m&m thing did work for some of my others....good luck today! :D

May the force be with you!

P.S. They sell the mini m & m's at Party City...you know, just in case you need more!

Good Job Savannah, you're such a big girl! I knew you could do it! :)

Uck. Good luck. I don't envy you. I still have a good seven or eight months, I suspect, until Jayce will even consider the potty.

Hey, jackie the bribery is what potty training is all about. I did too but my kids aren't huge into candybut a sticker chart worked. pull up my potty training posts and you might get some helpful ideas. keep in mind tho every child is different and so Savanah might have something totally different.

Oh, I miss those days of potty training......NOT!! Actually, they were pretty tame compared to raising teenagers. I wonder if M&Ms would work for teen behavior as well?? Good Luck with the potty training, I will be anxious to hear how it is going!!

Love,
Kelley

Wish I would've thought of that! It would've made potty training a little easier I think!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I wish you luck on your potty training adventure! I did the same approach with my oldest daughter. 1 m&m for pee, and 2 for poop. We also threw potty parties. Every time she was a success, we pulled out party hats and noise makers in the bathroom to celebrate!

That is too weird. I also bought a bag of M&Ms and started potty training today with my son. It went quite well, but certainly would have been better if I'd thought to utilize my wireless internet.

Hope it went well.

Best wishes with this!!!
Those are exactly what my dear daughter got when she trained! My son, he liked chosing a small toy, car, etc. Her, the chocolate!

Oh, do tell. Where the M&M's successful? Will you be spending another day blogging in the bathroom?

You'll need the bigger bag because you're gonna need some, too!
